Choosing an AI assistant for your team: a practical comparison

Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude all promise to make your team more productive. The right choice depends less on the model and more on where your work already lives.

There is no single best AI assistant. There is a best fit for how your organisation works.

Start with your stack

If your business runs on Microsoft 365, Copilot sits inside the tools you already use. Google Workspace teams get similar benefits from Gemini. Standalone assistants can be stronger for writing, analysis and coding.

Check the data controls

Business plans differ in how they store and use your data. Confirm data residency, retention and training settings before you roll anything out.

Pilot with real work

Give a small group two weeks on real tasks, measure time saved and quality, then decide. Compare the systems against the tasks and controls that matter to your organisation.

Vendor features and pricing change often, so check the vendors’ current terms.
